Sound design special features

Airplane & automobile

There are various scenes in which the viewer has the opportunity to control a vehicle themselves. The challenge was to make the sound historically correct and dynamically adaptable to the driving speed, engine speed, surface and space.

Voice output DE/EN

Since the film is also shown in English, dubbing of the German actors was necessary. Since these were filmed, the English voice lines had to be as precise as possible in length, accuracy and synchronization in order to not impair the immersion.

Music

The music plays a crucial role in the dramaturgy of this VR film. That's why it was particularly important to create enough space for it and to create a fine balance between SFX, language and music.

Reverb

The right ratio of direct sound and reverb is crucial for immersion, especially in VR with familiar environments such as a room or a large hall. This is most notably true for voice output and directional sounds.
