Runes of Recreation

RUNES OF RECREATION

"Relics of Recreation" is set in a devastated world. Players, as an archaeologist, must unite five ancient runes to restore the world. Solving puzzles and overcoming challenges allows progression and landscape transformation. The game features environmental storytelling, with player actions dynamically altering the world.

Sound design special features

Short Development Time

The very short development time of 7 days was probably the biggest challenge in this project. It was therefore necessary to set up the Wwise project as best as possible before the start of the jam and to set up most of the game syncs, actor mixer hierarchies and the bus structure that would probably be needed so that the short time could be used most efficiently. I go into this in great detail in the embedded video below.

Interactive Musik

Despite the tight schedule, creating an interactive music structure was very important to me. Fortunately, we had Kate Tavasoli as a composer on our team, which gave me access to music composed specifically for this game. The in-game music was composed in different intensities, so that it was possible to implement a musical score depending on the level progress. More on this in the embedded video below.

Game-Defined Reverb

In order to acoustically immerse the player even better in the environment and to create an effect of spatiality, which is difficult to achieve with the 2D graphical representation, various reverb volumes have been created in the game, whereby the game-defined aux sends use the reverb appropriate to the environment.
